Step-by-step Guide to Install Luxury Vinyl Planks

Here is the step-by-step that makes it easy for you to do the flooring yourself. Follow the guide below and have a less complicated experience.

  1.  Find the low and high spots on wood subfloors and sand down the high spots using a belt sander equipped with a coarse-grit belt.
  2. Through floor patching fill in the low spots and feather them out with a towel.
  3. Trim jambs and packaging so you can slide the flooring under.
  4.  Leave an expansion gap along the walls by inserting shims to make a 1/4-inch to 3/8-inch hole between the floor and the walls.
  5. Snap the boards in the initial row end to end. Slide the tongue of the initial board on the second line into the furrow of the first row at a low point and lay it on the floor.
